Role of Small and Medium Scale Industries in the Development of National Economy (A Case Study of Ephraim Technology Business Incubation Centre).
This research study has its title as “the role of small and medium scale industries in the development of the National economy a case study of at Ephraim Technology Business Incubation Centre has as its objective to identify the impact of finance on small scale industries and how they are fulfilling their role in the national economy, although much of their problem is widely spoken in terms of finance, than the actual role they are meant to fulfill. Also we are to ascertain if finance is the major problem of Small Scale Industries at Ephraim Technology Business Incubation Centre and to identify the best source of finance for Small Scale Industries. The research questions answered in this study using structured questionnaire are what is the impact of finance on Small Scale Industries notably in Abuja, is finance, the major problem centre and what is the best source of finance for includes, finance has no significant impact on small scale industries in Abuja at Ephraim Technology Business Incubation Centre and the sources of finance has no significant impact on small scale industries in Abuja. Descriptive survey method of research was adopted for the research methodology where structured questionnaire was used as research instrument for data collection and percentage and chi-square computation used as a method of data analysis and test of hypothesis. The research findings among other includes, finance as a major problem of Small Scale Industries in Abuja, finance has negative impact on small scale sub-sector make significant contribution to achieve social and economic objectives such as labour absorption, income distribution, rural development, poverty eradication and balanced economic growth. The beneficiaries of this industry are the industrialist or entrepreneurs, private entities, business men and women.
